DUKE OF GLOUCESTER OCTAGONAL PLATTER

$405
... duke it out

The dinner service was originally made for William Henry, Duke of Gloucester, circa 1770. A medley of plump fruits in twenty colors set inside a Rococo rim of green with 22k gold flecks. Dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is recommended. 12.5"

Part of the "Dinner For Two At The Mayflower" and "Merry Muscaria" collections. Platters are for more than just turkey! Splay a fruit salad to show off nature's beauty. Play with the proportions and plate long carrots, long beans, and bok choy. Lined-up individual open wedges of lettuce to grab with Vintage Silver Large Sandwich Tongs would be an excellent use for this octagonal stunner. So would breadsticks, with a Vecchio Rice Bowl for herbaceous marina sauce.
