SWAN SERVICE WHITE DINNERWARE

$148
...paddle like hell

The high baroque triumph of modeling and firing, Swan Service, was created in 1737 for Heinrich von Brühl, the First Minister of the Electorate of Saxony and favorite of King Augustus III of Poland. Designed by Johann Joachim Kändler, the pattern features a delicate background with radiating bands based on a scallop shell and a central well dressed with a pair of swans on water amid bullrushes, swooping cranes, and fish. Several parts of the service depict figures from Greco-Roman mythology, like Glaucus and the dolphin-riding Galatea. Dishwasher safe.
