These Japanese fans are handmade with local Kumamoto bamboo, washi paper, and fermented persimmon dye by a family who has produced fans since 1889. The persimmon dye coat helps repel bugs and make the paper very long lasting. Set these at every place setting, no matter the weather. They come in handy during holidays when the kitchen has warmed the whole house and grandmother won’t adjust the air. They make a royal kindness to an easy blusher after a dirty joke.
