These tumblers have a milky checkerboard pattern that is modern and elegantly earthy, but the Ichimatsu pattern has ancient pre-Edo oirgins. They are made in Tokyo by a glass studio founded in 1899, using a technique from the Meiji and Taisho periods, where bone ash and temperature changes are used to make patterns during periods of heating and cooling at the time of molding. Hand wash. Holds 8.5 ounces. 3.1”d x 3.3”h

Part of the “For Goodness Sake” collection. Pair with an Osode Tablecloth-To-The-Floor and Ivory Checkered Dinner Napkins - it’s hip to be square.
